New black voters

Check out a pretty inspiring article about people who are voting for the first time in this election. A cool statistic: "In Georgia, for instance, blacks represented a quarter of all voters in the 2004 presidential election. So far this year in early voting alone, they make up 35 percent of all voters."

I found this article to be more than inspiring. I think its a great thing that African Americans are more inspired to vote now, not just because of Obama, but because of all the intimidation and other voting problems that they endored in the past. I think that its a great thing that african americans can finally vote without being intimidated or threatened.

More black people are inspired to vote because of President Obama. This article really emphasized how Pres. Obama touched and inspired a lot of people throughout his campaign. I feel happy about all the black people who took a chance and hoped for a change. It has really been hard for the black people to vote in the past, but now I share with the joy they feel that no black person will ever again be scared to make their voice be heard. I think that it is not just the possibility that a first black president will be elected that inspired them. What inspired them is the way President Obama believed and emphasized change, and how he never gave up. I also agree with Mr. Hairston that we should not only root for change if we want it, we should also take part in the process of achieving it. The statistics in Georgia was great, a lot of people really were inspired. I was just surprise that Senator McCain won the Georgia electoral votes. But it's fine, Obama 08.
