I agree with Blagojevich's removal from office. Blagojevich deserved the charges of wire fraud and bribery. Through his actions he showed that he put his ego and the prospect of money before the interests of the people of Illinois. The fact that he didn't even attend his own trial, and instead tried to "plea" his case on The View shows his carelessness and disregard for his responsibility as a leader. Allegedly trying to sell a Senate seat shows what kind of person he is, and clearly he isn't a man who should be in charge of helping the needs of the people of Illinois met, seeing that he put his own interests first. Blagojevich called the decisions "un American," but if the lawmakers decided to allow him to stay in office, they would have sent the message that what Blagojevich did was perfectly fine as long as you can lie your way out of it.
I agree with Becky that Blagojevich deserved being charged with wire fraud and bribery. Blagojevich's actions will affect what the American people think of government. Money influenced the decisions he made when it was supposed to be the well being of his constituents. When I heard that he had skipped his trial to go on The View I couldn't believe it. If he really wanted to plea his case to the American people he should have gone to his trial. The state senators voted 59 to 0. The outcome of the trial shows that the government will get rid of corruption in the United States.
