I almost forgot!

Some of the language on the site is inappropriate, but they're all direct quotes: Rahmfacts!

Hey, Ms. McShane!

So...if we're reading correctly, you're a high school government teacher and you're sharing our site with your students? Awesome. Thanks so much for helping spread the word about Rahm Facts, in any case.

Cheers,
The Rahm Facts team

Whoo-hoo! Finally. Even though something like only three Republicans voted for the stimulus plan, with Democrats, showing that maybe this administration will not be as bipartisan as Obama claims for it, I am glad this finally got passed. On the news, they were talking about sending a lobbyist out to Washington to guarantee California several million dollars out of this deal, which will hopefully provoke legislators into drawing up that budget.

One of the things that confused me about this stimulus package is the amount that is going towards infrastructure, and while I can understand that we do definitely need highways and bridges, I assumed more would go towards states and big business. Even though the Republicans in Washington feel like they just got cheated out of almost a trillion dollars, I only hope that this is what we need to nudge us towards economic growth and a higher GDP.

I never thought that Rahm Emmanuel was such an interesting character, especially not that there were so many quirky facts about him. This website truly proved to me that it is not only Barack Obama who is getting so much media attention and seems to fascinate people. I had already established that the First Family in general was getting a lot more focus put on them, but I am surprised that so much interest is put on this Chief of Staff. I must admit, though, he seems so interesting and I could see why the American public would care about him. Although his popularity has not reached that of Obama’s (at least not yet!), I can totally see us obsessing about him in the next four or eight years. Some facts I found the most interesting were “RAHM EMANUEL HATES ARBY'S”, AFTER THE 2006 MIDTERM ELECTIONS, RAHM EMANUEL JUMPED ON A TABLE AND SAID THE REPUBLICAN PARTY "CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES", and RAHM EMANUEL'S RABBI LETS HIM WORK ON ROSH HASHANAH. First one: “Who cares?” came to mind, but then I think, “Well, it is really random that someone knows this!” Second: Are people from Chicago like swearing-fanatics? Blangogavich (spelling?) and him could have a swearing party. Lastly: What a cool Rabbi!!!
All in all, really fun website that I am sure going to check more often when I am probably bored. I also think it gives insight into the internet-politics association. Thanks, Ms. McShane!
