The first video focused on North Carolina and the effects of the presidential election in the state. It addressed the state’s large African-American population (22%) and used voter statistics to say that North Carolina, traditionally a red state, looks like it is turning blue in some areas. This state is "up for grabs," which is why Senator Obama is buying a lot of air time for his campaign commercials here to win votes. I found it interesting when the video showed that Obama is raising more money nationally and spending more money locally than John McCain. It said that Obama has about 8 times more funding for his campaign than McCain, which obviously gives him a much greater advantage. One man interviewed said that no matter how much people say they are annoyed by campaign advertisements on the radio or TV, they do work. This gives Obama an edge over his opponent where he can stress his stand on issues and gain more support. He recently said that people will be more open to change when they realize that the policies we have now on issues such as health care, the economy, and education are not working. However, this does not mean that Obama will necessarily win. This reminds me of what Barack Obama said on the Daly Show last night- “I don’t think that white people have gotten the memo about the Bradley effect.” I am not sure exactly what he means here, but considering the Bradley effect, the polls could be off more than they claim their margin of error to be.

These interviews spoke about peoples opinions about the debate. Overall, they all want someone who is willing to help everyone and make a difference. Some want a strong candidate that is well prepared to run the country. A candidate having these abilities will make a great candidate for this election. Hopefully we shall have a great president.
